TPL1401: Can TPL1401 be used for power supply scaling like DAC43701?

Part Number: TPL1401
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC43701

 Hello guys,

One of my customers is considering using TPL1401 for SMPS output voltage scaling of their new products.

They have a questions as the follow. Could you please give me your reply?

 Q. We was looking for a DAC with EEPROM like DAC43701 for power supply scaling.

But the programable waveform generation function and GPI input pin for a emergency event are not needed for our products.

Then we found TPL1401. Our question is the following.

Can TPL1401 be used for power supply scaling like figure 9-4 "Power-Supply Margining" on page44 of DAC43701 datasheet (Version No. SLASEY5)?

We couldn't find this application in TPL1401 datasheet (Version SNAS806).

Your reply would be much appreciated.

 Best regards,

 Kazuya.

  • Hi Kazuya,

Yes, the TPL1401 can be used for power supply margining or output voltage scaling. The process will be very similar to what's given in the DAC43701 datasheet, just without the extra features such as the GPI pin and slew rate control.
