What is the exact channel information sent back from ADS7863 SDOA when it is reset from SDI in Mode IV?
Hi xuekang,
The ADS7863 resets to Mode I. The SDOA would only contain data from CHAx until after you re-establish Mode IV operation.
Thanks, Tom. But Mode IV is set by connecting M0=1 and M1=1. This setting is done in hardware wiring, and it will not be reset by any reset signal sent to SDI. My question is: when we send a reset signal to SDI, what channel information will be sent back from SDOA, i.e. the first few bits of each data block that indicate which channel the following data belongs to?
xuekang shan,
The ADS7863 power on resets to Mode I. The state of the Mx pins is not verified until the first conversion is implemented. When BUSY returns low after the first conversion from power up, the device will enter Mode IV if M0=M1=1. The same is true for a reset through software - the first conversion takes place as Mode 1 with the device entering Mode IV operation after BUSY returns low. The first two bits out should be 'zero' before the MSB is presented on SDOA (and SDOB).
