All,

 

I have a customer that is trying to install the SW for this card and it halts at the NI installation with an error :

"The NI LabVIEW Real-Time FIFO for Runtime installation failed with the following error.

Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode, or if Windows Installer in not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance.

 

Continue?"

    Hi Rinzai,

    I believe this is a request from GD, and we are already in the process of resolving this. 

    Currently, the customer is looking into the following NI instructions to see if it will solve the problem:

    If this is from a different customer, please let me know so we can look further into this.

    Rinzai,

    By following NI's instruction on removing Microsoft Hotfix 981669, the customer was able to continue the installation.

    Some of the additional steps that they have taken:

    1.     Create folder “C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\DAC3283.fdr\instr.lib”

    2.     Copied file “ftd2xx.dll” into folder “C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\DAC3283.fdr\instr.lib” 

    Got file “ftd2xx.dll” from folder “C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\DAC3283.fdr\data”.

    This issue is now resolved.
