TLV0831 and TLV0832 Difference in fuctionality

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV0831, TLV0832, TLC0832

Hi sir / madam,

This is vengat here from Avnet , one of customer is working on metering segement and they have selected the TLV0831 / TLV0832.

can you please explain me about the sequencing method used in TLV0831 & TLV0832 ?  in sequencing bloch daigram of TLV0832 has MSB data / lSB data first i Ts or

Tconv ? please give more input about the sequencing block daigram please ?

  • Hi Vengat,

The TLV0832 outputs MSB first data, bits 7::0 and then 'repeats' the zero code if it continues to be clocked.  The TLV0831 outputs MSB to LSB and then repeats the data 'backwards' until the MSB is sent a second time if it continues to be clocked.  You only need to retrieve the 8-bit data, you do not have to go beyond bit 0.  If you continue to clock the part, this is what you can expect to see.  For the TLC0832, the MSB is converted on the fourth clock while SDO outputs a '0'.  The remaining bits are converted through clocks five onward while the MSB...LSB is presented on SDO.  For the TLV0831, the MSB is converted after the second clock, and output on the third.
