ADS8422 - Generation of BUSY pulsei,

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS8422

Hi,

The ADS8422 IC is not generating the required BUSY pulse after providing it the Conversion start pulse.

As per ADS8422 datasheet, Page no 12 Timing Diagram, for starting the conversion we are providing a Low pulse on CONVST Pin and waiting for the BUSY pin to go low, But it is not going low. it remains high.

Request you to let us know under which conditions it will remain high.

Other Pin status are as follows.

Reset/PD1 = 5V

PD2 = 5V

VAREG = 5V

Do you have any sample program code so we can check, Need your support in this matter ASAP.

  • Hi Atul,

    Contrary to your statement, you should see BUSY rising on the falling edge of CONVST which marks the start of conversion. BUSY should remain high as long as the ADC is converting and fall when conversion ends (and valid data becomes available). Thereafter BUSY should remain low until the next falling edge of CONVST.

    Could you please post a scope plot showing the interface control signals over one or two ADC conversion cycles?

    Regards,
    Harsha
