Breakout board development for Microsemi FPGAs

I just received my TI ads6142EVM-CB evaluation module and breakout board. We are using Microsemi FPGAs so there is no breakout board available (like for Xilinx, Altera) that allows differential pin connections to the J10 FMC. The breakout board provided has a single clock, like for CMOS connection (though I guess could faux use the rising and falling edges here). The EVM manual shows low-res board layer images. Are there any PCB files for the ads6142EVM-CB, and any additional insights that you might have to help us develop our differential pin breakout board to allow connection to FMC connectors on our Microsemi boards?

The User's Guide, as you noted, provides the schematics and low-res layer graphics. You can find the file electronically on the web at: http://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/slau206. We can also provide the PCB design files for this board for reference.

Hi,

I am not familiar with the pinout of a Microsemi FPGA board, but if it is FMC then i would suggest checking to see if they followed the same pin assignment as Xilinx used, as we do have the adapter board to adapt from our EVM connector to the FMC connector used on the Xilinx developent platforms.

The link to the zip file of the physical design package for the adapter card is at that location on our web site.

If the pinout on your FMC connector is different and you wish to make such an adapter, I would suggest starting with the design database that is there for the ADC to Xilinx adapter and editing it to fit the pinout you need. And in so doing you could omit signal traces that might be on our adapter that are not needed for the ADS6142 if you wanted to. We should be able to get a similar zip file of the physical design package for the ADS6142 EVM later today.
