DAC8552 and DAC8532, using 5V supply, is it possible to connect to 3.3V CPU

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC8552, DAC8532

Dear Specialists

MY customer is considering DAC8552 and DAC8532.

He wants confirm if they are used 5V supply, are they possible to connect control signal(SYNC, SCLK, DIN) to 3.3V CPU.

I think no problem because two DACs are able to accept 3.3V I/O. (VIL<0.8V,VIL>2.4V)

Is this correct?

Also, Do you have reference design using 5V supply DAC and 3.3V cpu.

I appreciate your great help.

Best regards,

Shinichi

This is correct. There will be no issues interfacing with a 3.3 V digital input signal.

Unfortunately we do not have such a reference design. As long as the digital input voltages comply to the datasheet specifications, (the same you stated above) there should be no problems for either device.

  • Dear Eugenio

    Thank you for your reply.

I understand the DACs is able to connect to 3.3V CPU.

And I'll tell the customer there are no reference design.

    I appreciate great help.

    Best regards,

    Shinichi
