TSW1405EVM: conecting TSW1405 with AFE5805EVM

Part Number: TSW1405EVM

I have a TSW1405EVM and a AFE5805EVM, and i'm trying to conect them, but AFE5805 is only supported by the TSW1400 capture card and not the TSW1405. Is there any way in which i can conect them? perhaps by altering the drive from any other similar module.

Thank You.

  • Hi,

The AFE5805 is supported by the Medical Group, and as such any firmware for the TSW1405 for the AFE5805 would have to come from that group.   So I am moving this posting to that forum.   I do note that the sample data format for the AFE5805 is very similar to the sample data format for the ADS5282, which is supported by the TSW1405.  But there may be minor differences between the EVMs of the two device such as polarity of the LVDS into the connector and if so that would have to be handled by the FPGA firmware of the TSW1405.  So if there isn't an ini file for the AFE5805 to go into the HSDCPro under the TSW1405 support, then either the ADS5281 selection would work directly or maybe with minor modifications to the ini file for the ADS5282.    But the Medical group would have to help with that.

    Regards,

    Richard P.

  • Hi Mauricio,

Copy the attached ini file for the AFE5805 into the HSDC Pro TSW1405 support files (C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\High Speed Data Converter Pro\1405 Details\ADC files)

    /cfs-file/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/73/0523.AFE5805_5F00_12x.ini

Also when you are setting up the AFE5805 EVM using the AFE5805 GUI (refer AFE5805EVM users guide), write the value 8200h instead of 8208h to the reg address 46h (this is to set the ADC output format to straight offset binary format and the serialized ADC output as LSB-first)

Additionally you will also require the bridge adapter card to connect the TSW1405 EVM to the AFE5805EVM.
