XTR117: Interface a XTR117 with a Photo Transistor and a MCU

Hi,

I want to read a light pulse from my house energy meter. The meter is 30m away from my apartment so I pretend to use a current loop to get the signal into my house and read it with a MCU. To detect the light impulse I'm using a photo-transistor.

After read the data-sheet I designed the following schematic. Do you have any advice on that schematic? Should XTR117 work that way?

Hello,

I don't see anything wrong with the circuit shown, it should operate as expected. You may need to adjust Re based on the sensitivity of the photo-transistor and the intensity of the light impulse, but other than that everything looks good. Let us know if you need anything else!
