TSW1400EVM: TSW1400EVM+AFE5808AEVM :'No Firmware. Please select a device to load firmware into the board'

Part Number: TSW1400EVM

Hi,

I'm currently using a TSW1400EVM to connect to AFE5808AEVM. After power up, the 5V input should draw around 0.37A. The only LED  C87 is on. The power supply for AFE5808AEVM is providing +-5 volts and slightly over 0.7A.

The board itself is recognised by the software and appears in the window for selecting the serial number of your board. After clicking on 'OK' it runs for about 2 seconds before a message appears saying 'No Firmware. Please select a device to load firmware into the board'. If the desired ADC is then selected it tries to download the firmware and then repeats the previous message. The ADC specific GUI has also be downloaded.

I hope something in there is useful.

Regards,

LVQIAN

  • Hello LVqian,

To help debug your issue better, can you provide the following?

    1. Version of the High Speed Data Converter (HSDC) Pro GUI
    2. Version of the AFE5808A GUI (HMC DAQ GUI)
    3. operating system of the machine
    4. The first pop-up message that you get 'No Firmware. Please select a device to load firmware into the board' is valid. Which ADC firmware do you choose after you get the above message?
    5. Did you have the AFE5808A GUI already running first before launching the TSW1400 GUI?
    6. Screenshots of the pop-up messages

  • Hello, Praveen

  • Hi LVqian,

After launching the HSDC Pro GUI and selecting the serial number of the device (K1227029-TSW1400 in your case), you will need to select the AFE5808 device
by clicking on 'Select ADC' and select AFE5808_14X from the pull down menu.

You can refer to section 7 in the user guide for more details.

  • Hi, Praveen,

After I Select"AFE5808_09_14X" in HSDC Pro GUI. waiting..... "No firmware. Pease select a device to load firmware into the board" is shown again. I have no idea.

    LVqian
  • Hi LVqian,

Can you ensure the TSW1400 EVM is not current clamped on the supply voltage?
What is the current limit set for the 5V supply to the TSW1400 EVM?

Can you also provide a screenshot of the HSDC Pro GUI?

  • Hi LVqian,

I haven’t heard back from you, I’m assuming you were able to resolve your issue. If not, just post a reply below.
