ADS1282: Not able to configure ADS1282 via ADC Pro

Part Number: ADS1282
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADCPRO

I tried connecting ADS1282 to PC via ADC PRO, but however i'm getting the error as "Firmware download failed, reset the hardware".

Please find the attached screenshot of the error from ADC Pro.

How to overcome this error?

  • Hi Shashank,

Haven't you resolved this issue before? (e2e.ti.com/.../679653)
Is this a different EVM or PC that is showing the same problem?

The most common reasons for this error are:
    - MMB0 driver did not install correctly
    and
    - The ADS1282EVM is missing the +VA and -VS supplies

If you've already tried correcting those issues, then I'm not sure what else to suggest, other than trying a different EVM in case this one was damaged.

    Best regards,
    Chris
  • Hi Chris,

Your're right, previously I faced the same issue which got resolved by providing -5V (-VS) supply. However, the same issue has come up again even after successful installation of MMB0 driver & after providing all the required supplies i.e. +VA, -VA, +VS & -VS.

The EVM is not damaged as we took some test data few days ago.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Shashank

  • Hi Shashank,

Have you tired power-cycling the EVM and re-lauching the ADS1282 plugin from ADCPro? Perhaps ADCPro just needs to re-flash the MMB0 firmware.

Some other things you can try:

    - Re-install ADCPro and the ADS1282 plugin. I know it sounds odd, but I have seen LabVIEW files get corrupted and not work after a time, particularly if you have other LabVIEW files or drivers installed on your PC. A fresh installation might fix the issue.

    - One person has told me that they had success connecting to their MMB0-based EVM on Windows 10, after updating their NI-VISA driver to the latest version. You can find this driver here: www.ni.com/.../

    Best regards,
    Chris
