AFE5807EVM: two TSW1250EVM board synchronization and data continuous saving to PC under external trigger

Hi,

          Currently, I use an AFE5807EVM+TSW1250EVM to test the ADC capture data from ultrasound input. I have a question about synchronization. For example,  I want to use 16 channels ultrasound input, that is I need to use two AFE5807EVM+TSW1250EVM, I know I can input a trigger to two TSW1250EVM's external trigger port get them synchronized. But there is an issue about save data to PC from TSW1250EVM. Currently, when I use the software TI supplied, I need to click one button to save once under the external trigger mode. This is definitely not my need. I need to keep saving when the trigger comes. I'd better have the Labview source code instead of just executed software to know the command the PC gave to FPGA. Do we have the source code or is there some solutions? Thanks!

    How are you?

    Please take a look at the current AFE5807 Evaluation Module from TI website as below:

    For evaluation board, now AFE5807EVM is directly

    connected to the TSW1400 EVM.

    Here was no TSW1250 being used and supported any more.

    I understand these...But the TSW1400 is so expensive. Does TSW1405EVM is compatiable with AFE5807EVM? Thanks, 64kB buffer is okay for me

    Hi Guang,

    How are you?
    According to our System engineer, he said it (TSW1405EVM) can. Only 12bit.
    Need to adjust MSB/LSB, 2’s/offset modes.

    But he also mentioned, TSW1405EVM does not have trigger capability.
    (It can allow you to capture data only.)
    For your concern about running 16 channels,
    he suggested you can please design one board with two devices
    (such as two AFE5807 chips are designed on the same board)
    or please use AFE5818EVM which can cover 16 channels for you
    and then all the 16 channel data will be synced together.

    Thank you so much for these information. Except for TSW1400EVM, could you recommend any other capture card which is compatiable with AFE5807EVM and can be external trigger, and is not as expensive as TSW1400EVM. Thank you so much

    Except using TSW1400EVM to run AFE5807EVM,
    only we can use is TSW1405EVM to support AFE5807EVM in our group.
    However TSW1405EVM's size is small
    but it does not provide trigger function.

               I have bought the TSW1495EVM and downloaded the software from TI website. However, when I connect with AFE5807EVM, I can not find this model in FPGA software, I can only find the AFE5805. What is the possible reason? Thanks
