DAC38J84: Which register is configtbd ?

Part Number: DAC38J84

Hi,

I find 3 references to "configtbd" in the manual.

Are the correct register names available anywhere?

Hopeful thanks --todd

  • Hello,

The first configtbd is the alarm registers located from config100 (0x65) to config109 (0x6E)

The second configtbd is located in config3 with respect to the DAC output gain

the third configtbd is located in config27 for external reference enable for the DAC current mirror. Most of our customers uses internally generated reference (bandgap) to match process and temperature drift direction with respect to the whole chip.

  • Thank you, Kang, for this prompt and authoritative reply.

It appears that the first instance of "configtbd" might have been meant to be generalised, as in "configX" for one of these values for X ...

The 2nd and the 3rd instances appear to be simple typographical errors.

As a follow up question, has anyone asked about "configtbd" before? I must have searched wrong.

    Hopeful thanks --todd

  • Hi Todd,

The original author did not do a thorough check before publishing this datasheet. The "tbd" or to be determined should be filled up by actual register name.
The actual register function such as extref_ena or alarm registers remains correct. It is the actual register number that becomes TBD... I have asked for them to be updated. sorry for the inconvenience.

  • Goodonya, Kang.
I appreciate the candour and clarity of your follow-up answer.
