ADS8509: Data Read

I am using the discontinuous EXT clock in this application. The data sheet indicates that the data output is valid on either edge of the internal clock if the internal clock is used, but does not indicate which edge should be used by an external clock to receive the data.

    Hi Richard,

    Welcome to E2E forum.

    There is one session to introduce the edges for reading the data when an external DATACLK is used, please refer to EXTERNAL DATACLK session in page 16 and 17 of ADS8509 datasheet. Each bit is available on a falling and then a rising edge, but note that the total clock pulses requirements are different for reading on falling or rising edge of DATACLK with or without SYNC, please check more information in this session and table 1.
