ADC3424: Guide to use LMH6518 to drive ADC3424

Part Number: ADC3424
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMH6518

Hi Team,

We are penetrate our ADC3424 in my customer in new project. Also we finally choose LMH6518 to drive ADC3424. Now customer plan to do schematic, so Can some expert help to share some reference schematic or guidance to show how to use LMH6518 to drive ADC3424, this will help customer to move ahead more smoothly. Thanks for the support!

Best regards,

  • Hi Sulyn

Does your customer need to pass DC from the signal source to the ADC, or is an AC-coupled solution OK?

If an AC-coupled solution will work OK I would recommend using the LMH6518 in place of the transformer circuitry found in Figures 183, 185 or 187 of the ADC3424 datasheet. The particular circuit used will depend on the necessary signal frequency range.

If you need a DC-coupled solution then you will need to use the VCM signal from the ADC to set the voltage of the VCM pin on the amplifier. You will also need to take care that the input and output common modes of the amplifier will result in acceptable performance. The LMH6518 experts would have more specific recommendations on this topic.

    Best regards,
