AFE5818: Input when executing Auto Offset Correction

Part Number: AFE5818

Hello,

My customer have two questions about AFE5818.

[Q1]

Please tell me how to terminate for inputs in AFE5818 when executing Auto Offset Correction.

Is it possible with floating ?

[Q2]

Please tell me how to remove the offset in Auto Offset Correction.

Is my understanding correct ?

<My understanding>

"Accumulator Block" increments the output of ADC by the number of samples determined by AUTO_OFFSET_REMOVAL_ACC_CYCLES from the first sample triggered by TX_TRIG or OFFSET_REMOVAL_START_MANUAL.

"Truncation and Rounding Data Bits Block" is averaged the accumulator output data by truncation and rounding process.

"Subtraction Block" is subtract ADC output data and averaged ADC output data.

Therefore it is necessary to have no input when using this function.

  • Hi Hiroshi-san,

    How are you?
Thank you for helping customer using AFE5818 device.
We will look into the detail of the auto offset correction function
and I will reply to you very soon.

    Thank you and best regards,

  • Hi Hiroshi-san,

    How are you?

for AFE5818: Input when executing Auto Offset Correction:
    For the question [Q1]:
    Yes, using floating is ok.

    For the question [Q2]:
    Yes, when using this function,
    then no input is better.
But if when the input is a signal,
then this function will still average the captured data
which becomes a DC value and would be used as offset data.

    Thank you very much!

    Best regards,
    Chen
