ADS5474-SP: INL and DNL Specifications

Part Number: ADS5474-SP

Hello,

Does the INL characteristic stay fairly consistent for a single device? A customer wants to know if they can calibrate it out by forming a lookup table for that particular device.

Also, I see that the typical DNL is +/-0.7LSB. Is there a specific operating condition that causes these parts to hit the maximum +2.5LSB point (leading to non-monotonic behavior)? Or is it a device-to-device spec that we can cherry pick to avoid?

Regards,
Ryan B.

  • Hi Ryan,

Keep in mind that this is a space grade device and the min and max specs cover the temperature range of -55C to +125C as well as any TID radiation effects at 25C for a 100krad exposure. Determining which condition drove the maximum spec is not possible from the datasheet information alone. I will ask our radiation team if the characterization data is available to know what drove the max specs and get back to you. I would expect all devices to behave similarly so cherry picking to avoid a max DNL of +2.5LSB over temperature or with 100krad radiation exposure might not be fruitful.

I expect the DNL to be repeatable for a given condition on a given device so calibrating out this non-linearity would, potentially, be possible.

    Thanks
    Christian
  • Looking at the characterization data, the +2.5LSB max DNL spec is driven by test condition -55C.
