ADS5562: ADS5562

Part Number: ADS5562

Hi,

Now we are using ADS5562 chip sample signal, it will covert the INP/INM differential signal into digital data. My question is that

-Chip separately covert INP & INM 2 analog into 2 digital data, and then INP's digital data - INM's digital data, and then output digital data to chip outside?

-Or chip do "INP analog - INM analog" into one single signal, and then convert single analog signal into digital data, and then output digital data to chip outside?

-Actually I can't understand that Figure 45 of datasheet, differential sample and hold architecture. There are INP, INM, but I don't know how work sampling switches on top and bottom?Where is interface of the differential sample and hold architecture for 16bit-ADC?

Best Regards,

Kent

  • Hi Kent,

We are taking a closer look at your questions, and will be back with you soon.

  • Kent,

INP and INM will go to a differential buffer inside the part and become a single input for the ADC. This is not shown in Figure 45. There will only be one digital stream for this dual input.

In Figure 45, the sampling switches are the sample and hold circuit. These switches are normally closed when the analog input is coming in. Just before the ADC is ready to sample the data, the switches open, which holds the voltage level of the signal after the last capacitor, to give the ADC more sample time. After the sample has been processed, the switches close again allowing the capacitors to charge up again.
