DAC37J84EVM: Register Configuration issue

Part Number: DAC37J84EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC37J84

PFA register  config screenshot. The explanation seems to be improper.

 For example

1) 15:13th bit of 0x3E register if i set the following combination 000 or 001 or 011 or 111 what will happen?

2) 10:8 bit of 0x3E register if i set the following combination 000or 001 or 011 or 011 or 111 what will happen?

3) 15th bit of 0x3B register if i set 1 else 0  what will happen?

4) 14:11 bit of 0x3B register if i set the following combination 0000 or 0001 or 0011 or 0111 or 1111 what will happen?

5) 12:11 bit of 0x3C register if i set the following combinations 00 or 01 or 10 or 11 what  will happen?

6) 8:1bit of 0x3C register if i set the following combinations 00000000 or 00000001 or 00000011 or 00000111 or 00001111 or 00011111 or 00111111 or 011111111 or 11111111 what  will happen in the register?

 7) 0x3B,0x3C and 0x3E registers cloud you give me proper register configurations for LMFS =2441.

 Kindly guide me through this.

  • Hello,

    regarding your questions:

    the following is the truth table for LOS

    3b'000 = loss of signal detection disabled

    3b'100 = enabled loss of signal detection

    all other combinations are reserved

    When enabled the loss of signal, the differential signal amplitude of rxpi and rxni is monitored. Depending on wehther it is below or above the pre-set electrical voltage threshold, the LOSDTCT bit alarms will be asserted.

    You may use the GUI to check the clock reference for the SERDES related clocking

    double click on the lower left hand corner to check the register values

    see following SERDES clock section for guidance

    you may also use the gui to generate the config for your need. see example

  • Hi Kang,

    Thank you for proper explanations of those registers.

     Can you share  configuration file for DAC37J84 for below configuration?

     LMFS = 2441

    Lanes used 0 and 1

    DAC PLL disable

    DAC Clock 1Ghz

    k= 32

    Interpolation = 4X

    Thanks & Regards

    Vignesh

  • Vignesh,

    you will have to generate your own coding through our GUI.

    see below for example.
