When I short press the touch screen I am getting unstable values but when I long press, the values are stable. What is wrong?
Great question! Unwanted noise coming from LCD panel or back-light circuitry may need to be filtered out. In this case, you may want add some external caps to filter out this noise. Adding these caps will also create a settling time requirement that will need to be accounted for.
The solution to the settling issues can be found in the Touch Screen Settling section of the datasheet for the controller you are using. If noise is an issue in your system, you can always look through the application note Reducing Analog Input Noise in Touch Screen Systems.
We are glad that we were able to resolve this issue, and will now proceed to close this thread.
