ADS8166: ADS8166 Input offset error match

Part Number: ADS8166

Dear Colleague,

In ADS8166 datasheet, I find Input offset error match and Input offset error, what is the differences?

Thanks a lot!

  • Hello Rock,

The maximum input offset error of 10LSB is the maximum voltage converted with the input shorted to GND (0V) in single ended mode.  When using the internal reference voltage, 4.096V, this will equal 4.096V*10/2^16=625uV.  The input offset error match is the maximum offset error difference from channel to channel (1LSB=62.5uV with Vref=4.096).  For example, if AIN0 measures 200uV with the input shorted to ground (0V input), AIN1 with the same shorted input would see a maximum of 262.5uV.

This specification is useful if a single channel is calibrated for 0LSB offset error; then the other channels will only have a maximum offset error of 1LSB.

    Regards,
