DAC3482: Power Consumption with just one channel at 320MSPS

Genius 12635 points
Part Number: DAC3482

Hello Team,

1st page of data sheet tells: "Very Low Power: 900 mW at 1.25 GSPS, Full Operating Conditions"

Which power consumption can we expect if just using one channel at 320MSPS (no NCO, no coarse mixer)?

Thanks and Best Regards,

Hans

  • Hello Hans Guenter,

    Apologies for the delay.

The power consumption over different operating frequency and digital functions are from Figure 37 to Figure 45 of the datasheet. You can sum up all the currents to get the aggregated power consumption for your mode

The DAC3482 digital logics cannot be turned off just for one channel. Therefore, the digital will remains the (DVDD) between one channel vs. two channel operation. The AVDD (analog core) can be turned off through SLEEP DAC feature to save the AVDD by half.
