DAC38J84: CLKBYP parameter

Hi,

In the DAC38J84 settings, there is the CLKBYP parameter (Config60 Bit14-13 - Clock bypass).
But nowhere in the datasheet does it say what effect different values of this parameter give.
What does the CLKBYP parameter do?

Andrey,

you do not need to use this register typically. This is a test feature to bypass the SERDES PLL assuming that you can provide the same clock rate externally to the SERDES core.

Kang,

CLKBYP can take four values.
I think that “00” is no bypass SERDES PLL, “11” is bypass SERDES PLL?
What do the other values of this parameter do?

Andrey,

Again, this feature is not typically used. This is originally designed for TI internal test case for debug purposes.

TI does not recommend using this register.
