Hi -

I saw some previous threads on high-speed ADC design applications and I was wondering if someone could help me in picking out the right FPGA-based data capture+pattern generator board and ADC, DAC modules for our system. The ADC should support 200 MHz BW for an optical pulse signal that is 50-100 ns wide, with repetition rate of 1-2 MHz and 0.4-4.26 Vpp. Also, the DAC modules should be able to drive one TTL pulse and two 10Vpp sine waves of ~1 KHz. The data capture/pattern generator should be able to interface with both the DAC and ADC modules. Also, it should  have an on-board crystal oscillator and shouldn't require an external clock. Also, the data capture board should be able to serially transfer the acquired data ~2 MBps or higher to the PC. We are basically looking at medical imaging or OCT applications if that makes more sense. With these design requirements, I came across a couple of options and I would really appreciate any feedback/input that you could provide:

ADS4229 Dual-Channel, 12-Bit, 250-MSPS + TSW1400EVM (requires external RF clock)

ADS5517 11-Bit, 200-MSPS + TSW1400EVM

TIDA-00826/ TIDA-010128 (Too bulky and difficult to program)

Any ADC + TSW14J57EVM

Thank you very much once again!

Best,

Yamuna
