ADS112U04: Schematic review

Part Number: ADS112U04
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS122U04

Hi Sirs,

Sorry to bother you.

Attached is our schematic.

Can you help us to review it?

  1. Our UART interface are going with 1.8V.
  2. AIN0~AIN4 are going to detect voltage from 1.6V~3.6V
  3. RESET pin is active low. What’s reset pin’s high voltage? 1.8V or 3.3V?

  • Hi Shu-Cheng LIN,

    1. Your UART interface voltage must match the supply voltage used for DVDD of the ADS122U04.  Logic high for the digital pins is a minimum of  0.7*DVDD or 2.31V minimum for a logic high.  1.8V is not going to be high enough, so there will be no communication that can take place.  The best thing to do here is use a level shifter device that translates the 1.8V signals to 3.3V.

    2. The analog input voltage must be within the analog supply range as well as the reference range of the ADC.  The internal reference is 2.048V, so if you wish to make a single-ended measurement you should increase the analog supply to at least the minimum voltage being measured (3.6V) up to 5V.

    3. RESET is a digital pin, and similar to 1 above must match the DVDD voltage being used.  Currently this is 3.3V.

    Best regards,

    Bob B
