AMC7836: Working with I2C Interfaces only ?

Part Number: AMC7836

Dear team,

My customer likes the AMC7836 however they don't have any GPIOs available on their MCU.

Is it possible to use the device only with I2C interface (without using the AMC7836 GPIO) ?

Can they achieve full functionality using I2C only ?

Regards,

Nir.

  • Hi Nir,

The AMC7836 does not support I2C at all, did you mean SPI?

If so, then you use the SPI interface to fully control the device.  The ALARMIN, ALARMOUT, ADCTRIG, and DAV signals all have SPI interface connectivity as well.  Using the ADCTRIG and DAV pins would allow your microcontroller to have better synchronization with the AMC, but it is not required.

    Thanks,

    Paul
