AFE4900: SpO2 and calibration algorithms

Hello,

We are planning to use the AFE4900 as the AFE for a wrist wearable device.

We are currently evaluating the performance of the chip using EVM. I want to know whether there are any algorithm implementations for SpO2 calculations?

Also, I want to know how to use the calibration mode already available in the EVM firmware? (I don't see any calibration mode from EVM GUI)

Hi,

We don't support any kind of algorithm.

You can find multiple papers online regarding algorithm of SpO2.

The calibration code in AFE4900EVM is disabled and should not be referred. We can provide guidance for the calibration offline at biosensing_afe-support@list.ti.com.

Thanks for the response.

Could you clarify, how do we determine the DC value for equation 1 in the reference provided when we use a bias compensation? (I think the DC value will be directly affected by the bias compensation. correct me if I am wrong)

Hi Nanayakkara,

DC value of the signal can be calculated by taking average of the signal.
