ADS9224R: FSR of ADS9224R

Part Number: ADS9224R

Hi team,

Why the FSR is different between fIN=2kHz and fIN=100kHz according to the datasheet?

  • Hi Charles,

    Thank you for your post.

What you're referring to is the amplitude of the input test signal. The full-scale range of the ADC is not dependent on the input frequency and is always equal to +/- 4.096V when VREF = 2.5 V.

For testing purposes, we often limit the input amplitude to -0.5 dBFS. This is commonly done as an industry standard to avoid unwanted non-linearities that come from operating at or above the ADC supplies. At higher frequencies, these non-linearities can be more exaggerated even when the amplitude is less than the supply. As expected, there is a noticeable drop-off in noise and linearity performance between 100 kHz and 1 MHz.

    Best regards,

  • Hi Ryan,

    Thanks for your answer.
