ADS1013-Q1: Internal ref spec

Part Number: ADS1013-Q1

Hi Team,

My customer would like to calculate the maximum amount of error that can be estimated but there is no internal ref spec of this device in the datasheet and they could not do that.

Do you have any data regarding its internal ref spec?
Or could you tell me expected maximum amount of error without any calibration of this device?

Regards,

Takashi Onawa

  • Onawa-san,

Because the reference is not brought outside the device, the reference error is reflected in the gain error specification. If you look the bottom of page 7 of the datasheet, note (3) for the gain error and gain drift over temperature says these specifications include all error from onboard PGA and voltage reference.

For example, in the datasheet the gain error is listed as 0.25% max for the ADC. Because the gain error and reference error are combined, it is exactly the same as having 0% gain error for the ADC, but a reference that has a max of 0.25% error.
