Part Number: ADS8568
my customer is currently using the ADS8568SPM and plans to redesign the application but this time for a Low cost version. Now, since they really like our ADS8568, they would like to keep it but are currently looking for a lower cost version. I tried to look into our portfolio but couldn't come up with anything interesting, could you please let me know which ADC to pitch?
The specs should be as similar as possible to the ADS8568.

I'm going to pull in our marketing team to assist further, but the ADS8568 does have a few features that are unique and there may not be a direct replacement. Do they still need 16-bits and the high-voltage front-end?

ADS8568 is the lowest priced part that has eight 16-bit si-sam ADCs, high voltage front end and 500kSPS sample rate. One alternative is ADS8588S, but the sample rate is only 200kSPS. Pricing will be close to that of ADS8568.

I would share more information with you.
1. ADS8588S is a single power supply(+5V), 8-ch,16-bit,200ksps simultaneous SAR ADC, however it can sample a bipolar +/-10V or +/-5V signal directly. ADS8568 needs high voltage dual power supplies.
2. ADS8588S has an integrated Analog Front-End (AFE) including PGA,L PF and ADC driver, also 1M ohms high and constant input impedance on each input channel, these features eliminate the requirement of designing an external driving amplifier on each channel which is usually required to drive ADS8568.
3. The performance specified in ADS8588S data sheet have included the error and noise contributed by the AFE circuit.
4. If a higher sampling rate is desired, ADS8588H can be used and it's a 500ksps, 8-ch, 16-bit simultaneous SAR ADC which is pin-pin compatible with ADS8588S.
