DAC8760: Analog output circuit verification and testing

Part Number: DAC8760

Hi

This is my circuit of analog output as 0-10V and 4-20mA, please verify the schematic and also please tell us the alternate way to test this circuit easily like with the help of Arduino library or something other.

Attached schematic file.

  • Hello Dheeraj,

Here are my comments on your design.

    1. It looks like AVSS is floating in the design. Please ensure that it is connected to a negative supply to ensure proper VOUT operation. If it is connect to GND, the offset and zero code error for VOUT will increase since there footroom requirement is not met.

    2. Are D4 and D6 TVS diodes? They should be replaced with clamp diodes from IOUT/ VOUT to AVDD and AVSS. Please refer to below link to show how the clamp diodes should be placed. D5 and D7 look okay and should be placed close to the VOUT and IOUT headers.

    3. All you need to test this circuit is a simple SPI interface to communicate with the DAC8760 and a DMM to measure the DAC outputs to test for functionality. Please let me know if there is any specific concern you have.

    Thanks
