I was reviewing the new datasheet for the teensy ADS7066. Below are a few somewhat persnickety observations that TI may wish to address, (or not).
This is advertised as "small", so the first thing I went to look for was the mechanical/package drawing.
These are usually included at the end of the datasheet. Interestingly, This datasheet does not include the package drawing. It just says at the very beginning:
Under package info, it cites the packaged used as DSBGA drawing YBH 16 pin:
The product folder for ADS7066 has a tab for part drawing, but the hyperlink is broken. Link below goes to "https://www.ti.xn--com-8n0a/"
If I pull up that drawing instead through the package search (https://www.ti.com/support-packaging/packaging-tools/find-packages.html) I see following:
Dimensions E and D are not listed in the package drawing! Only the following approximation (1.6 x 1.6) is shown in the package drawing table. Maybe I'm being fussy but I feel the dimensions need to be on the drawing.
I would not be surprised if there are some good reasons the drawing is the way it is, and I just missed something.
Anyway, this thing is amazingly small. I hope to never be in a situation where I have to do a layout with that kind of real estate pressure (cell phones?).
