ADC3242: ADC32xxEVM and ADC3xJxxEVM schematic has errors with THS4541

Part Number: ADC3242
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: THS4541

The evaluation board schematics for the ADC32xxEVM and ADC3xJxxEVM have an error where the fully differential amps THS4541 are wired wrong. The input connections are jacked up, so be careful if you copy this schematic for one of your designs. They have the input resistors feeding the outputs instead of the inputs.

  • Dave:

You are correct. The schematic on the web is a RevB and indeed has an error in the TSH4541 circuit where the feedback resistor is in the wrong place.  There is actually a RevC version that corrects this mistake and is the revision of the EVM used for evaluation.  The latest revision mistakenly was never updated on the web properly.  Thank you for bringing this to our attention.  We will work to get the proper revision uploaded.

  • The feedback resistors are in the right place, it's the input resistor connections that are wrong. Whatever, as long as it gets corrected. I was lazy I guess, and copied the orcad schematic into my design and and when the boards came back found myself doing exacto-knife and microscope triage. Luckily it was a pretty easy layer 1 fix.
