DAC8740H: Source Code Example for Profibus-PA

Part Number: DAC8740H

Hi Team,

My Customer is working with DAC8740H, and wanted to have a source code example for Profibus-PA using DAC8740H. Do we have a source code example that can be shared?

Thanks in advance.

Renan

  • Renan,

Source code for a complex protocol like Profibus-PA is more conventionally referred to as a "stack" or "data link layer" (DLL). These are very complex IPs, which we did not develop internally. Instead, we worked with a third party who wholly owns that IP. If they want to engage with that third party, we can share details with you offline. Otherwise we are not allowed, legally, to share the example.

  • Hi Kevin,

Thank you so much for this information.

Mu customer has the Profibus-PA Stack. They would like mainly the initialization routines, it is possible?

    Regards,

    Renan

  • Renan,

Assuming this case is indeed using the DAC8740H, versus any of the other orderables in the family, the UART interface does not require any initialization. The protocol is does not include any register configurations. The sequence is described on pages 19 and 20 of the datasheet.

Is there some confusion on these topics we can help with?
