    Hello, 

    1. I would suggest following the image below for connecting your device.

    There is also a tech note on using the ADS7142 with a NTC that would be helpful here as well.

    Some notes: the AINM pin needs to be grounded, it cannot be left floating, decoupling caps missing on power supply lines. SCL and SCA lines should be connected to the host. Also suggest to monitor BUSY pin.

    2. the current to the input pin of the device is dynamic, it will change as the device samples and holds. you would need to take an average measurement of this current. Depending on why you want to measure this current, you could not worry about it
