DAC8760: DAC8760 generate Iout and Vout Parallel

Part Number: DAC8760
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC8750, DAC8775

Hi TI Team,

As per datasheet DAC8760 the voltage and current outputs are enabled simultaneously.

But the Data resistor is common so How can we differential which data for Vout and Iout?

Means I want to generate Iout with different data values and Vout with different values but parallel.

If I change the Iout value then the Vout value will not be changed. Is it possible? If yes then how?

Regards,

  • Vivek,

Are you asking if you can set two different independent values for the VOUT and IOUT for the DAC8760? A single DAC8760 wouldn't be able to do this. There is a single DAC output register, and the VOUT and IOUT will track each other.

To achieve independent control, you would need two devices. You could use two DAC8760 devices or a DAC8760 plus a DAC8750 (which is the current output only version).

  • Looks like Joe answered this!

You could also take a look at the DAC8775, which features 4 channels.

    Thanks,
