Dear Forum Team,

I am able to test the ADS125H02EVM using Delta-Sigma ADC Evaluation software and checked the read and write registers functionality. As a part of development activity, I have some query, mentioned below-

(1.) Can we use the onboard TM4C1294NCPDT controller for development purpose using Blackhawk USB100V2 JTAG with CCS.

(2.) Is TivaWare_C_Series-2.1.4.178 library directly can be used with ADS125H02 Example Code provided(SPI drivers).

(3.) Need to test PT100(3Wire type), can you suggest pin connections to J1 connector.

(4.) Some sample connection to test 0 to 10 volt Analog input.

(5.) what are the changes /configuration required to use RTD and Analog input together using ADS125H02EVM.

For questions 1 & 2, let me look into this and get back to you

For question 3, let me refer you to Figures 9-11 in our RTD cookbook as well as Figure 2 in the ADS125H02 EVM user's guide

For question 4, please refer to Figure 98 in the ADS125H02 datasheet and Figure 2 in the ADS125H02 EVM user's guide

For question 5, you can use a combination of the information you discover in questions 3 & 4 to set up your system. Note that you will need an external mux to switch in the different signals, and you can use the ADS125H02's GPIO pins to control the mux.

You are welcome to reprogram the ADS125H02EVM if you would like to using the JTAG header; however, since the EVM itself is not intended as a development platform we can only provide you with limited applications support in this process such as pointing you to existing code examples and documentation for your development.

I'm not sure if Blackhawk USB100V2 JTAG debugger is compatible with the TM4C processor or not. If you need a debugger, you could utilize the XDS110 debugger found on the MSP-EXP432E401Y LaunchPad (https://www.ti.com/tool/MSP-EXP432E401Y).

It should be. The Example Code was written using TivaWare_C_Series-2.1.0.12573, so I would expect of the DriverLib APIs used in the example code to be compatible. The TivaWare Release Notes (in https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/spmu299f/spmu299f.pdf) seems to indicate that some DriverLib peripheral APIs were added between versions, but I don't see APIs that were modified or removed.

If there are issues, or if you wanted to use a different MCU and code library, you would just need to re-implement the functions in hal.c using the APIs for that particular processor library.

Thanks for reply. I am able to test the onboard TM4C1294NCPDT controller in ADS125H02EVM using Blackhawk USB100V2 JTAG with CCS(Test Connection .ccxml window).

I have some additional question related to development activity-

Can I get the backup code(project file) used in ADS125H02EVM.

So, if I am making any modification in the firmware to be flashed in TM4C1294NCPDT controller ,again can use the backup code for Delta-Sigma ADC Evaluation software.

Hi Anuj,

We cannot share the EVM project file, but we have ADS125H02 example code available on the product folder: https://www.ti.com/lit/zip/sbac233

The firmware .bin file is included in the device package download, so if you want to create your own firmware and then return the EVM back to its original state you can do so with the firmware binary file. That file should be located in this directory: documents/DSEvalSW/Devices/ADS125H02/fw/firmware.bin

Hi Anuj,

Can you send me a picture of your setup so I can see how the connections are done?

Can you also send me your register settings? I need to know which input channels were selected, which VREF, which IDAC setting, etc.

Note that the minimum VREF voltage for the ADS125H02 is 0.9V, so at 100 ohm you would need 9 mA of current to generate the minimum reference voltage for the ADC to operate. Please review the datasheet requirements carefully before choosing components and settings.
