What is the use of the TPL1401 feedback (FB) pin?

The exposed feedback pin, FB, is the feedback path for the internal output buffer.
The exposed feedback pin is beneficial in some applications.
In the circuit below, the TPL1401 used as a programmable comparator. The comparator threshold is set within the device, and the feedback is used as the signal input.
In the next example, the TPL1401 is used to create a bias point for an LED. The feedback pin connects to the source of the MOSFET which allows the TPL1401 to compensate for the gate-to-source voltage drop and the drift of the MOSFET.
If this pin is not used, it is important to short the feedback pin to the output so that the buffer is operational.
