Difference between DAC7571 and DAC121C081

Hi all,

I am considering DAC chip with I2C interface. (Resolution: 10bit, 12bit)

At TI.com, I found DAC7571 and DAC121C081.

I don't know what they differ.

Please reply the difference between DAC7571 and DAC121C081 to me.

I want to know why DAC7571 is more expensive than DAC121C081. (functionally)

Hello Sung,

Actually both of them are equivalent devices. There is an overlap in our portfolio due to the acquisition of National Semiconductors. So either device should give you equivalent results.

I completely agree. the differences are very subtle and these devices target similar applications. I am sure there are alternative variations of the DAC75271 as well, but sometimes it is advantageous to have the DAC reference voltage different than the supply voltage. this allows the voltage reference to be something smaller than what the digital logic requires VA to be. the DAC121C085 separates the VA and VREF pins and provides this flexibility.
