Part Number: TSW14J10EVM
Hi,
Do i need TSW14J10EVM board for interfacing with ADS42JBxxEVM / DAC38J84EVM ?
Can i connect ADS42JBxxEVM / DAC38J84EVM board directly with KC705. What are the advantages and disadvantages using TSW14J10EVM.
Thanks.

Hi Avinash,
I would suggest that you look at this thread
You can connect the ADC and DAC EVMs directly to the KCU705, but using the TSW14J10EVM allows for more of a turn key experience to evaluate the ADC and DAC. Please see the TSW14J10EVM User's Guide for more details. The KC705 has 4 data lanes routed, so you won't be able to use 8 lane modes for the DAC38J84EVM.
Best Regards,
Dan
Hi Dan,
Thanks for reply.
It will be helpful if i get inputs on following points.
1. I am not sure for my requirement 4 or 8 serdes lanes are required using DAC37J84
Number of DAC channel = 4
Sample rate for each DAC channel = 200 MSPS
Converter resolution = 14 bit
Interpolation = 1
as per data sheet i think following setting can be used, please confirm
2. I am planning to buy DAC3xJ8xEVM, ADS42JBxxEVM and TSW14J10 FMC-USB Interposer Card
Does TI provide FPGA reference design for KC-705 board
Thanks,
Avinash
Hi Avinash,
The KC-705 will be able to support the 4 lane modes LMF_442 (as you pointed out above) and LMF_421.There is a Xilinx/TI reference design located at the TSW14J10EVM site under "Software".
Best Regards,
Dan
