ADS4149: Input clock condition

Part Number: ADS4149

Hi team,

My customer will employ ADS4149 for their product and provided some question.

Is there some condition for conversion input clock at Start-up?
· Is it necessary to input clock after its frequency stabilized?
· Is there no problem even if the frequency fluctuates?

I look forward to hearing back from you.

Best regards,

Shota Mago

  • Hi Shota
I have referred your question to the ADS4149 expert. He will provide a more detailed response soon.

  • Shota,

The customer should wait for at least 100us after applying a stable clock frequency to get datasheet performance. If using low-speed mode, the clock duty cycle can be from 40 - 60%. If using high-speed mode, this should be 35 - 65%.

    Regards,

    Jim

  • Hi Jim-san

Thanks for your reply and sorry for confusing.
Let me simplify question and ask you again.

Is it necessary to input stable clock from the beginning?
The customer is concerned about that when using PLL, there is some possibility frequency is not stabilized immediately after turning on power.

    Best regards,
    Shota Mago
  • Shota,

It is not necessary to input a stable clock at power up. If the clock is not stable, the output data will not be stable. Once the clock becomes stable, the user should wait about 100uS before expecting data sheet specified data results.

    Regards,

    Jim
