ADS9224R: Meaning of Max spur(dBC) and Max spur(Hz) in ADS9224 GUI

Part Number: ADS9224R

Hi team,

What's the meaning of Max spur(dBC) and Max spur(Hz) in ADS9224 GUI?

Maz spur(dBC)=20log(max_harmonic_rms/fundamental component_rms)  ?

Max spur(Hz): the max harmonic frequency of input signal ?

  • Hi Charles,

The max spur is the largest frequency component besides the fundamental. The GUI is reporting the magnitude and the frequency of this spur in the Results table.

If you click on the checkbox at the top of the window called Mark Harmonics, the FFT will zoom in and show you the fundamental and first few harmonics with corresponding labels.

Also, note that with single SDO, the EVM cannot support the full 3-MSPS data rate, as indicated by Device Fs (Hz) = 2.61 MHz. This is due to the limitation in available SCLK frequency. Change the SDO Width to "Dual SDO." Then you should see the "Target" and "Achievable" sampling rate will match.
