ADS5560EVM: Suitable FMC ADC EVM with Sensor

Hi,

I'd like to use sensor "VS-BV203" with FMC ADC EVM.

I searched FMC ADC is available for only high speed ADC with FMC_ADC_Adapter below.

I think ADS5560EVM with FMC_ADC_Adapter is better.

If you have any recommendation FMC High Speed ADC for "VS-BV203", could you share it?

My taarget FPGA board is ZedBoard(zynq).

Hi tt,

Here's the link for FMC-ADC-Adapter passive interconnect board enables the output of TI’s High Speed ADCs LVDS output to be directly connected to a standard FMC

You can use this to connect ADS5560EVM to FPGA board's FMC connector.

Thank you for your reply.

The frequency of "VS-BV203" is from 10 to 15kHz and power supply voltage is 3 to 5.5 V(offset: ½ power supply voltage).

Does ADS5560EVM input these specs directly?

If you recommend other EVM (with FMC-ADC-Adapter) , could you share it?

Hi ttd,

As the highest input frequency is only 15kHz, I think you can use an ADC with <1MSPS sampling frequency. I will forward this post to our PADC experts for them to suggest an ADC.

I'm assuming that the sensor is giving single-ended output. Though ADS5560EVM supports single ended input with a balun in input path, the balun (WBC1-1) only supports a minimum input frequency of 250kHz. So the sensor can't be direcly interfaced with ADS5560EVM.

I understand that PADC is suitable for this sensor and So the sensor can't be direcly interfaced with ADS5560EVM.

At first, I'd like to use FMC connector ADC with Zedboard(FPGA). However I'll use PADC EVM(it can't connect FMC) for ADC evaluation only.
