How can I use the TPL1401 to add a programmable gain to my signal?

The TPL1401 can be used for programable gain. For this application, use VDD as the reference for the device, and apply the input signal to VDD. VDD is used as the reference by default, so there are no configuration settings that need to be modified. Because the signal is being applied to the VDD input, the signal will need to be in the valid 1.8V to 5.5V supply range of the TPL1401. A common use for this circuit is to tune audio circuits such as microphone sensitivity.
With VDD = VIN, the output signal will have an attenuation of 1 to 1/256 based on the TPL1401 transfer function of:
DPOT_POS will range from 1 to 256 to select the gain. Write the desired code to the DPOT_POS bits in the DPOT_POSITION register. The gain setting can be saved in the nonvolatile memory of the TPL1401 to allow for operation without a processor after initial programming.
