ADS7042: Simultaneous Sampling

Hi,

based on the timing diagram (attached), ADS7042 cannot provide simultanesou sampling if there are multiple used with typical SPI. Is that correct?

I am looking for an ADC with similar characteristics, such as: 

  • 10-12 bits
  • without need for external reference
  • low power (up to 5mW)
  • AVDD and DVDD can be at 1.8V
  • Can allow simultaneous sampling with a timing diagram as the following.

Is there any available with the above mentioned characteristics?

    Hello,

    The ADS7042 is a single channel device. Are you thinking of  using multiple device and using SPI communications to have them sample at the same time? This would require multiple SDO lines. 

    As for the timing diagram you provide, it seems that the device outputs data when CS is high, this is a very unusual method of operation. I do not think we have anything that can do that. How old is the original device that this timing diagram belongs to?
