ADS131A02: ADS131A02 - ADC self check

Part Number: ADS131A02
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS131A04,

I found in the datasheet  " ADC self check" but it's not clear to me what is intended, could you explain that in more details?

Another doubt: is it possible to read the analog value of the reference?

I need some way to test the adc without external singnals applied on the inputs.

Thanks

  • Hello Marco,

    Thank you for your post.

The ADS131A02 and ADS131A04 include various diagnostic features, such as data integrity checks (CRC), input overrange and underrange detection, and several flags for interface faults. There is no internal analog test signal or multiplexor on this device.

There is no direct way to read the analog value of the internal reference. Perhaps in lieu of an external test signal, you could use an on-board voltage divider between the analog supplies.

    Regards,

    Ryan
