TLA2024EVM-PDK: Can customer use this EVM to confirm software function for TLA2021IRUGR?

Hi Team

My customer wants to confirm software function for TLA2021 and customer needs to connect TLA2021 to their own board. So customer is asking if TI have such EVM or conversion board.

I found TLA2024EVM-PDK on TI.com, can it be used to confirm software function for TLA2021?

I see following differences such as input and PGA between TLA2024 and TLA2021, so I am wondering if those differences impact the software function confirmation result?

If above differences does impact software function confirmation result, could you tell me how can customer modify the EVM so customer can use TLA2024EVM-PDK as TLA2021 ?

For example, disable PGA function, modify input channel...

    Hi Jo,

    The TLA2021 and TLA2024 are pin to pin compatible, and the configuration and conversion result registers are the same (with additional settings for the TLA2024), so the GUI should be able to read data and configure the TLA2021.

    There should be no issue, but I am just double-checking this to make sure there are no hidden catches, and I will get back to you early next week with a definitive answer.

    Thanks for the reply. 

    After confirmed with customer, customer said they don't need TLA2024EVM-PDK this time. 

    Instead, they want to know if there is program compatibility between TLA2021 and ADS1013.

    Because customer used ADS1013 for prototype board before, they want to try software function created for TLA2021 with ADS1013.

    As far as I see in both datasheet, register looks like the same so I think I2C Control Program used in TLA2021 can also be used in ADS1013.

    Could you help confirm if it is correct?

    Hello Jo,

    That is correct. They could use the same program to configure the TLA2021 as the ADS1013 since the registers have the same format.
