ADS8598H: Pin Marked with Range Selection

Part Number: ADS8598H

Dear Members,

I need to know,

1. the Range selection IO pin is part of the Analog or Digital block in ADS8598H, as per the block diagram, it is part of digital.

1. the Reference Selection IO pin is part of the Analog or Digital block in ADS8598H, as per the block diagram, it looks for Analog.

  • Hi Mahabir,

Both Range pin 8  and REFSEL pin 34 are digital input (DI) pins. Please refer to the pin TYPE in PIN Function table in the data sheet.

    Best regards,

    Dale

  • You are right as per the datasheet. I had doubt because both are related to the input signal but being part of the digital section, the pull-up etc will be part of the digital power supply, which has switching noise of SPI or Parallel communication from the controller. Being so sensitive device, allowing digital power in analog section is questionable. Still for safety, I will use, filtered digital supply for these two lines pulls up. (Filter will be done by ferrite bead and capacitors).
