PCM2707C: How to make it work for 32bit 384KHz audio while interfacing it with PCM5142

Hi Former Member,
I'm designing a USB DAC that can support UPTO 32bit 384KHz audio.
Is the concept flow diagram above is going to work ?
Windows 10 Redstone II Update brought native support for USB Audio Class 2, so it should work
but
do I need anything additional (other than usual passive components and precision regulators etc) to build this DAC

Hello, I didn't have a chance to work with PCM2707C, because I didn't get any answer from TI regarding the PID issue.

Hi, Tamojit,

Unfortunately, the concept you are showing will not work as the PCM2707C is not compatible with USB audio class 2 (UAC2), operation up to 384KHz is not possible. Currently we don't have a USB audio device capable of operating above 48KHz sampling rate.

Is there any workaround that you know of ? Like using S/PDIF or something like that.

Hi, Tamojit,

You can use a different I²S source for the PCM5142 and get 384KHz, but a different USB interface might be required as the PCM2707C doesn't support 384KHz. What kind of input options apart form USB are you considering for your system?.
