TLV320AIC3104-Q1: HPROUT/HPLOUT single ended configuration to drive speakers

Hello TI,

we would like to use a single ended input amplifier with the TLV320AIC3104.

If I ignore the differential outputs lines and use just the HPROUT and HPLOUT to drive speaker, how would I choose the values of the capacitor and the resistor?

For example, if I needed to connect the HPROUT to a PAM8403 amplifier, I would connect the AGND of my circuit to the GND of the PAM8403 and the HPROUT to the Right input of the amplifier.

How do I choose the capacitor and resistor values?

Here is how we did it on the EVM:

The 100R and 47nF RC network just filters out of band noise. 47uf is large enough to pass low frequency audio, the value could be reduced depending on your needs.

I guess we'll go ahead with the design as in the EVM schematic. I assume I can leave the HPRCOM and HPLCOM pins unconnected?

Using an electret microphone as recommended in the eCall reference design document should do it for the inputs, I believe.

Pradeep,

correct, the HPL/R COM pins can be left floating, but make sure that those blocks are powered down. (Register 58 and 72)
